Family-owned business, Alerter Group, has been named the National Champions of the Technology & Innovation award at this year’s National Family Business of the year awards ceremony.

Based in Derby, Alerter Group designs, installs and maintains its own range of life-saving emergency communication systems, throughout the UK.

The awards, this year held at Wembley Stadium, were founded 10 years ago to honour and celebrate the extraordinary 4.8 million family-owned businesses in the UK which form the engine room of the British economy.

Second generation family member Claire Presland, Commercial Director of Alerter Group, commented “It is a great honour to have won at the National Family Business Awards. After previously winning local awards, we are so proud to receive national recognition for the hard work our team does across the country.”
Over the last 20 years, Alerter Group has developed to be the market leader in providing emergency communication systems.

Historically specialising in providing fire alarm systems for Deaf and hard of hearing people, more recently their product portfolio has expanded to provide radio-based emergency disabled refuge systems, as well as other radio-based emergency communication systems for hazardous workplace situations.

Customers range from over a hundred Universities to large manufacturers like Rolls Royce and Toyota.
