On both sides of this park in Southampton are clients that have boosted fire safety with Refuge Alerter Emergency Voice Communication (EVC) systems – though their buildings are quite different from each other!
On the East side of the park, seen prominently in the video above, are buildings belonging to Southampton Solent University.
Our Refuge Alerter system has been installed across student hubs and teaching blocks at the University.
Beyond the opposite side of the park, to the west, sits Southampton Civic Centre (a classical-style, grade II-listed heritage building dating back to the Interwar era) – also with Refuge Alerter installed.
At both locations, the use of Refuge Alerter provides two-way emergency communication in line with BS5839-9 – helping keep everyone on-site safe if a fire was ever to break out.
One of the things we’re proud of at Alerter Group is the way that our radio-based EVC systems can be used to achieve coverage in all types of buildings.
These certainly aren’t the only places in Southampton to use our systems. This particular spot, however, is a striking example of how Refuge Alerter is available in so many buildings across the UK’s towns and cities – supporting the safety of everyone on sites where it’s been installed.
